Sustainability and innovation: KIRO charts its path to a greener future
We are thrilled to announce a milestone in our commitment to a sustainable future: KIRO Concept recently achieved ISO 14064-1:2018 / UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 certification, an international recognition that demonstrates our commitment to monitoring and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
At KIRO Concept, sustainability is a guiding principle for all our projects. It's not just about optimizing the energy efficiency of our spaces and products, but also integrating an environmental ethic into all phases of design and production. This achievement goes far beyond earning a "certificate"—it's a tangible sign of a profound shift in our corporate vision.
Why is sustainability an integral part of our DNA?
Every motorcycle workshop built by KIRO Concept is designed not only to meet practical and aesthetic needs, but also to reduce environmental impact. From the choice of materials to energy management, every detail is designed to reduce the carbon footprint, without compromising quality or functionality. ISO 14064-1 certification represents a fundamental starting point for us on a journey to integrate sustainability and design into every project.
ISO 14064-1 certification: more than just a goal achieved
ISO 14064-1 is an international standard that defines the criteria for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas emissions at the corporate level. This standard represents a milestone in our quest for transparency and environmental responsibility. It's not just about calculating carbon footprints, but doing so scientifically, accurately, and, above all, verifiably.
We have undertaken this path to:
- Ensuring transparency and trust: being recognized as a company capable of accurately documenting and measuring its environmental impact is fundamental to us. We want all our customers and partners to know that KIRO Concept solutions are not only aesthetically refined and functional, but also responsible.
- Providing a solid basis for concrete actions: Emissions analysis allows us to make more informed decisions to reduce our direct and indirect emissions, continuously improving sustainability across all our processes.
- Contributing to real change: We're not just interested in obtaining certifications; our goal is to make a difference. Every step towards reducing emissions is a step towards a more sustainable future for the motorcycle equipment design and manufacturing industry.
An in-depth analysis: our GHG inventory
To achieve ISO 14064-1 certification, we developed a comprehensive inventory of our emissions, analyzing not only the direct but also the indirect sources that contribute to our environmental impact. It was challenging, but necessary to gain a clear understanding of our areas for improvement.

Emission categories analyzed
The categories examined were broad and varied, allowing us to gain a detailed picture of the KIRO Concept's impact. Here's what we monitored:
- Direct emissions: such as those from our production plants or the use of company vehicles, which are the easiest to control, but also those on which we can intervene immediately.
- Emissions from purchased energy: The energy sources we use for our production process are crucial to determining our impact. Therefore, we have carefully considered our suppliers' energy mix, choosing those that support more responsible and environmentally friendly energy use.
- Logistics and transportation emissions: We know that every journey of our design solutions or every shipment of raw materials impacts the environment. We have therefore mapped every phase of our logistics to optimize routes and reduce energy consumption.
- Material and component emissions: Every workshop we design is built with carefully selected materials, some of which have a significant impact on CO2 emissions. By analyzing every material and component used, we are committed to choosing more sustainable solutions that do not compromise our quality standards.
- Product emissions: We understand that the carbon footprint doesn't end once KIRO Concept workshops are installed. We've considered how to optimize the entire life cycle of our solutions, including use and disposal.
Looking to the future: concrete commitments and goals
ISO 14064-1 certification is just the first step on a long journey toward a more sustainable future. Now that we have a reliable data base, we can set challenging but achievable goals to reduce our impact. This means:
- Optimize energy resources: further improve the energy efficiency of our plants and adopt greener solutions for managing consumption.
- Encouraging sustainable practices: not only in production, but also in the way we manage our logistics, supplier selection, and the very design of our motorcycle workshops.
- Monitor and communicate progress: We will continue to monitor our progress and share findings with our customers, partners, and stakeholders, always remaining true to our values of transparency and responsible innovation.
This journey would not have been possible without the commitment of the entire KIRO Concept team, who worked with passion and dedication to achieve this goal. Together, we are creating a future where design and sustainability go hand in hand, creating solutions that are not only effective but also environmentally friendly.
We will continue to push our pursuit of sustainable innovation further.
